In the world of track and field, speed is
the standard by which everyone is
measured. Even those events which
don ’t seem speed driven on the surface -
like the hammer or high jump, - depend
on foot speed, explosion and acceleration
in order to achieve success.

James Reid enters his sixth year as the
head men's and women's track coach at
Angelo State. He was appointed to the
position in August of 1999, after six
seasons as the assistant coach.

The end of one of the longest
reigns in NCAA history came to
an end in 2004, capping a
fantastic season by the ASU men
and women ’s track and field teams.
The ASU Track Team hopes to build
upon their legacy in the upcoming years.
